After losing the series-opener in Buffalo, Montreal has now rattled off back-to-back victories, outscoring the Sabres by a combined, 11-3. They have dominated this opponent on their own ice, taking four of the last five meetings going back to December 2024. It’s true, Buffalo has played well this postseason on the road. But I feel the home team here, playing on their own ice, and riding momentum from victories in Games 2 and 3, is going to be a tough task for the visitor. On paper, the Sabres own better numbers, both offensively and in goal against. But hockey isn’t played on paper. And the post season certainly isn’t played on paper, either. Momentum and confidence play a big part in the playoffs. Let’s not leave out playing at home in front of their loyal, loud fans is also a huge benefit. Take the Canadians. Thank you.
